Awoke this morning to the wind god running through Southern California. He was laughing and chasing tumbleweeds to the point where he blew the clouds right out of the sky. Every beam in the roof was moaning sounding like a ballroom filled with well dressed spirits dancing the night away. Snug in my room it was very distracting watching the trees bow to each other.
But alas all good things must come to an end. The alarm went off and it was time to get my butt out of bed and take the roommate to the train station. I stumbled downstairs and out the door to warm up the car and I was stopped in my tracks. My enjoyment of the windstorm was quickly forgotten.
Monday is trash day in our neighborhood. The disposal company provides us with 3 cans. A black can for trash. A blue clan for recycling. A green can for yard waste.
The black can was on its side. Trash strewn from its mouth across our yard and several of our neighbors. The blue can also on its side. Decapitated. Lid in the middle of the street. Recycling rolling down the street like tumbleweeds. The green can still standing a loan sentinel defying the wind god.
With a heavy sigh I realized that rather than a few minutes sitting in a warm car I was going to spend some time on a trash day scavenger hunt. Collecting the remnants of our week before our pissed off neighbors find our trash cohabitating in their yards.
I grabbed a bag and got to work.
Did we really drink that much soda?
We had pizza?
To much fast food?
Americans love excessive packaging...
Finally all the trash was collected. The yards were once again pristine. Cans standing. Fingers crossed that they would remain standing until the trash man came.
I'm cold. Fingers are numb as I shuffle to the car. Hell on the plus side at least I'm awake.

Begin Again
To blog or not to blog that is the question I have been asking of late. I used to blog. Murmurs from a Porcelain Throne was my digital salvation. Venting into the ether, rather read or not, helped me through a particularly difficult time in my life. When life changed. When I changed. I retired from the blogging world.
Fast forward to the present. Life is good. Health is good. Yet I miss writing. Of late I have had a slew of ideas murmuring beneath the surface and no outlet. Blogging gave me discipline. Whether I felt like it or not I did my best to post every day. So my rationale is that if I begin a new blog I will have an outlet for my creativity and just maybe wake up my inner muse.
I have no direction. No plan. I will go wherever my fingers take me.
